When we examine the contradictions between Islam and Bible Christianity, we find that the key foundational element of Christianity, that Jesus the Savior is fully and completely God, is denied in Islam.
The Muslim Position
Qur’an 4:171 “O people of the book! Commit no excesses in your religion: nor say of God naught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: So believe in God and His messengers…
From a Muslim,
“There are no Jewish writings that prophesied the appearing of ‘God’ on earth in the form of a man.”
One apologist for Islam has argued that “Jesus never claimed to be a god or the Son of God.”He contended that Christ “was only the servant and apostle of the Lord” in the very same sense that others (like Moses) were messengers of God before him (Hammudah Abdala, Islam in Focus, Indianapolis: American Trust Publications, 1975, p. 158)
Another Islamic writer claims that there is no authentic biblical evidence that Jesus ever affirmed that he was the “Son of God” (Sulaiman Shahid Mufassir, Jesus, A Prophet of Islam (Indianapolis, American Trust Publications, 1980, p. 22).
“… both the Bible and the Qur’an teach that Jesus is not God.” Shabir Ally, None of the Bible’s Writers Believed that Jesus is God http://www3.sympatico.ca/shabir.ally/new_page_39.htm
The Muslim position is very clear to deny Jesus any full deity.
The Christian Position
Yet the Bible teaches the deity of Christ, Jesus.
Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Paul affirms that Jesus is equal with God. Whatever God is, Jesus is that same thing.
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matt 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Immanuel means “God with us”, which is the promise given to Isaiah, which he was to reassure Israel in his day. God was going to physically be with Israel, walking among them as God walked with Adam and Eve in the garden.
Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
The point of this verse is that the person who came and was born as a baby in Bethlehem was eternal, having no time of not existing in the past, nor in the future. This is and can only be God almighty.
Conclusion
Scripture declares that when Jesus arrived on earth, he was God in flesh on the earth. This personage of the Christ, (Jesus Christ), is a person that has forever existed in eternity past. This has to be full God.
